We collide on purpose

not our own

leaping

into orange.

Then I am red

and you are yellow

circling

a solitary fever.

We make

rings of fire

in dim spaces

stroking time

Where I am red

And you are yellow

And when we meet

We set ourselves on fire.

-Fran Ng

I like the poem for its fiery message, an exchange of heat creating fire. This is not only sex but also love that entails sex.

Fate made them red as red and yellow as yellow, so when they meet, they created a chemistry that set them on fire.

This made me think fate or God has His own way of introducing us our own lifetime partners. We can’t tell when or force ourselves to predict just to get frustrated. Love comes when it is ready to meet us. It doesn’t heed our wills.

My advice for those anxious girls to meet their perfect pair: one, there’s no perfect guy. Second, don’t force yourselves to guys who don’t deserve your love (and your virginity). Third, wait, wait, wait, even for a long time, because the best one will soon arrive in your life either. It might even catch you off guard.
