There were two groups in theclassroom. The teacher asked them how will they describe a rainbow to a blind person.

Naturalist:

It cannot be described (since they cannot determine the colors of the rainbow).

Romantic:

You want to touch it though you really cannot; and when you think that you can almost touch it, it suddenly disappears.

i consider myself literate in English. In fact when I was in grade school, i receive comments from teachers that I am good in English. I have written letters, articles, journals in English. And in high school, my classmates thought that I am fluent in every language that I use (maybe, they just wanted to tell me that I was better than them, not really that good. haha).

Be that as it may, I came to think that I wanted to learn other languages aside from English and my own language, and so I enrolled on a Nihongo course. It was a challenging language because Japanese have a different mode of writing. Since I was eager to equip my mind with a new knowledge of other languages, I was able to master the hiragana and katakana characters. But when I reached to the part where learning the kanji, I choked some air. The sensei said there are thousands of them. Ha! Now I only remember 5 of these characters.

Yesterday, I stumbled on a page written in Japanese; and that was when I was reminded how illiterate I am to other languages than Filipino and English.

Awkward Situation #1 October 24, 2008

fRom Kirstain:

How can you say ‘yes’ to a guy when the question has already been asked a year ago? It isn’t that late but the feeling, well, doesn’t feel like it hits the timing…

Q:  why did this happen?

A: well, because I asked the guy to wait.

Aside from that, the reason why it felt more awkward was because the timing wasn’t good. A misunderstanding had happened on that assigned date (that I only have the right to set, therefore, I was the only one who knew).
